A Blank Canvas with roots

6/7/19

Welcome to my first "blog" post... Disclaimer!  This is more of a canvas, a journey and telling of the spirit rather than a document that is grammatically correct.  There will be errors, structure created in the moment and so much more!

.........

As I drove through the mountain; snow melting I could only begin to process leaving the Colorado Advocacy in Action Conference.  The movement in my soul at the world of healing, connection, decolonization, (re)membering, crying; I can only exist in the amazement of growth in all directions.

A few hours later the warmth of the last three days at the conference began to form in individual memories that I shared with so many people.  Not only this, this conference marked the first EVER booth that Yolia Creations had the honor to exist within. I could not have asked for more growth personally, professionally and spiritually!  As I begin to adventure on this new journey with Yolia Creations I am beginning to expose the roots that will be the foundation of this next journey in my life. I begin to reflect on the beginning of Yolia Creations and discover a core feeling, what I would say is a movement of the soul.  A feeling that often times grew to be a gift that I would create for someone, or a space that reflected appreciation and love. For years I was encouraged to sell my creations and never fully stayed in that idea too long. I am so grateful to those who saw my love as an art; art that should be shared.

I have to note how Yolia creations is deeply intertwined with my own journey.  My passion is becoming witness to people's stories, (re)claiming spaces, making connections and finding reflection of us in the journey of others.  At the conference Yolia Creations was a small space where story telling of healing, struggle and survival were told. The sparks in conversations that were created with people at the booth helped me to understand that we are all connected in many ways despite our various paths.  I believe that people meet others for a reason, to get to the next place in our own lives. Healing is a process and one that is not linear.

I want to thank all those at the conference who stopped to say hello and who helped support this passion of mine.  I want to thank my mama who was with me for the beginning of something new and thank you to those who have followed, promoted and supported Yolia Creations on social media as well as spiritually and in person.. I appreciate you all.
